BRIEF

Dieline Awards formally recognize the absolute best in consumer product packaging design worldwide, bringing awareness to the immense value that lies in well-designed brand packaging.

Brand owners, consumers, marketers, agencies, in-house creatives, students, and enthusiasts around the world turn to Dieline Awards as the benchmark for impeccably-designed packaging of consumer products.

The Dieline Awards competition evolves yearly to stay up-to-date with industry trends. Now in its 9th year, the competition offers more in-depth categories than it ever has to help celebrate innovation and honor excellence in packaging design around the globe.

An esteemed jury of structural packaging, design, branding, and consumer product experts examine each submission with regards to five key elements: Creativity, Marketability, Innovation, Execution, and On-Pack Branding. Debbie Millman, President Emeritus of AIGA serves as chairperson of the jury. A total of 93 winners will be recognized in the 2019 competition.

AWARDS

BEST OF SHOW
The highest cumulative score among all entries will be awarded the highly coveted Best of Show prize. This is the grand winner of the entire competition. The Best of Show winner:
Receives one complimentary Big Ticket to Dieline Conference & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago and will be invited to accept their award live on stage during the awards ceremony.
Receives the Matte Black Best of Show Dieline Awards Trophy.

EDITOR’S CHOICE
One entry will be awarded the Editor’s Choice award, handpicked by Andrew Gibbs, Founder of The Dieline.
Receives one complimentary Big Ticket to Dieline Conference & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago and will be invited to accept their award live on stage during the awards ceremony.
Receives the Blue Crystal Editor’s Choice Dieline Awards Trophy.

STUDIO OF THE YEAR
One studio will be recognized for their collective work and contribution to consumer package design over the past year. It is awarded to the studio, agency, or in-house team that receives the most overall wins across all categories in the competition.
Receives one complimentary Big Ticket to Dieline Conference & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago and will be invited to accept their award live on stage during the awards ceremony.
Receives the Clear Crystal Studio of the Year Dieline Awards Trophy.

REBRAND OF THE YEAR
One consumer brand will be recognized by the jury for its outstanding overall branding redesign within the past year. One winner will be chosen by the jury, from all rebrand entries, from all categories.
Receives one complimentary Big Ticket to Dieline Conference & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago and will be invited to accept their award live on stage during the awards ceremony.
Receives a Gold Rebrand of the Year Dieline Awards Trophy.

PLASTIC FREE INNOVATION OF THE YEAR
The top scoring project from the Plastic Free Category will be recognized for its outstanding work and contribution to Plastic Free and Biomaterial based package designs over the past year.
One winner will be chosen by the Plastic Free jury, from all Plastic Free entries.
Receives one complimentary Big Ticket to Dieline Conference & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago and will be invited to accept their award live on stage during the awards ceremony.
Winner receives a Wood Dieline Awards Trophy.

ALL TOP WINNERS, FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD PLACE WINNERS
We invite all winners to accept their award live on stage during the Dieline Awards ceremony, part of Dieline Conference 2019 in Chicago, May 8th – 10th. All First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be notified prior of their win, but not their place.
All winners will receive a 50% discount to attend Dieline Conference 2019 & HOW Design Live 2019 in Chicago. Conference attendance is not mandatory to participate in the live Dieline Awards ceremony, only to attend conference sessions & activities.
Receive an official Dieline Awards Trophy.
Are included in The Dieline Awards 2019 Exhibit at Dieline Conference 2019.
Winning projects appear in any traveling pop-up exhibits that we host in 2019. Past pop-up exhibits have taken place from Los Angeles and Paris. See past exhibits here.
